Atomic Vulture (founded 2011) is an instrumental three-piece stoner/ space rock band from Belgium, consisting of Pascal David (guitar), Kris Hoornaert (bass) and Jens Van Hollebeke (drums). They sound old-school, dusty and they rock like the center of the sun. Swirling grooves, thunderous driving beats and hot bass lines.Their tracks have a divine atmosphere often swinging between fuzzed out grooves and a more ambient style, not forgetting to add some psyched or even doom aesthetics from time to time.July 2012 they released their first EP, uncomplicatedly named 'Atomic Vulture'. It was embraced by the stoner audience and the band's fan base grew rapidly. The next EP 'Planet Emerald' saw light early 2013 and later that year the single 'Moon Base' announced a further exploration of space. They released their debut album 'Into Orbit' in 2014 in own manage- ment. This 8 tracks containing album was also pressed in corporation with Pink Tank Records from Germany on vinyl in various colors. In the spring of 2018, they released a new 5-track EP ‘Stone of the Fifth Sun’ with Jackalope Music from Germany. This label worked together with Polderrecords (BE) for the release of their EP on vinyl.Atomic Vulture plays on average 40 gigs in Belgium a year and has toured in Europe several times, sharing the stage with bands from all over the world. Here a few names: Fatso Jetson, Greenleaf, Desert Storm, Ritual King, Troy Torino, Cowboys & Aliens, Radar Men from the Moon, Labirinto, Spiders, King Hiss, Libido Fuzz, Papir, The Black Explosion, Komatsu, Sardonis, Fire Down Below, Samsara Blues Experiment, Zoë, Maudlin, The Spacelords, Monolith, The Glücks, Ortega, Swamp Machine, ... When on stage, crowds swing head to hips, side to side, unsuccessful to contain their feet from tapping.A dance is never far away, due to a live vibe and ever groovy tunes.
Thanks to this strong live reputation, their fan base kept growing both on- as well as offline. With more than 7000 Facebook fans and ship- pings of their EP's from Ukraine, Brazil and Australia to the USA to show for it.
